Besides the automatic mapping feature of Recogito, which we discovered last week, we will use GoogleEarth Pro (download and install desktop version for free) and confirm locations of those same sites on Pleiades (Gazetteer of the Ancient World).

learning goals:

1. find longitude and latitute for ancient sites via Wikipedia > GeoHack**
2. confirm coordinates for ancient sites on Pleiades
3. insert decimal coordinates into GoogleEarth placemark
4. manually position placemarks
5. name and describe sites under “Properties” (Windows) or “Get Info” (Mac)
6. adjust scale and color of placemark icons
7. create custom icons or remove icons
